No, but if you haven't gotten your booster shot and or hepatitis shots within the last 3-4 years than you may be suseptable to infection. I would for now, try cleaning it and try to put some sort of protectant like neosporn on it to prevent more germs from entering the wound. Also if you have antibiotics i would reccomend taking them. If the infection persists, or you start to get a new symptom i would go to the doctor immediately.
Good that you got a tetanus booster; that was the first thing I was going to mention. Now, for the puncture site - keep it cleaned with soap and water and then dry it well; use a hair dryer set on cool if it's painful to pat dry with a towel. At night, when sleeping, keep the area unbandaged so air can get to it. During the day you should apply some antibiotic ointment and a band-aid. This will prevent infection and irritation. You should soon be on the mend.
I would NEVER soak it in bleach water because all your nerve endings are in your feet. You would soak all that bleach into your body. Do you have some pine gum salve. Pine gum salve draws infection really well. Just dab some on and cover it so you don't lose it all. You can probably find some at a health foods store.

Just put some Dettol(You will get it in any medical shop) over the wound regularly four or five times once in two hours.It has to get alright.....ok.....If it is not getting right, please go and see a well qualified doctor.....People are breaking their hands and legs and still living,,,,why are your woried about this nail wound.....You will live long,but be careful in future......

It is probably an infection. Put antibiotic ointment on it (do NOT use peroxide if the skin is broken). If it gets redder and spreads, see a doctor right away as you may need stronger antibiotics.
you wont die- a tetnus shot will help it not get infected--- the doctor should of told you how to care for it- probably needs air or bandaid- depending on how bad!
no.. its just an infection put some peroxide on it and itll be fine
