My dog's nail is cracked from almost the tip to were it almost reaches the skin. Does he need Vet?

It isn't bleeding and he isn't in any noticeable pain. Will the nail grow out eventually? Is there anything I can do to help it heal faster? My dog's nail is cracked from almost the tip to were it almost reaches the skin. Does he need Vet?
Super glue should work. Time will tell if it poses a problem or not.My dog's nail is cracked from almost the tip to were it almost reaches the skin. Does he need Vet?
My dog had the same problem, I used super glue to mend the crack and it grew out just fine.
Super glue is perfect for this (preferable a quick dry kind, or you dog may end up with some interesting things stuck to his foot).

Nails crack... unless it's painful and bleeding (which you already said it's not) a vet visit isn't necessary. Just clean it really well with anti-bacterial soap before you seal it up, and watch it over the next week or so, just to be sure.
Of course he needs a vet. If it's cracked under the skin the vet will need to remove the nail so it doesn't get infected. Even if it's not he will still need his nail cleaned up and possibly need antibiotics to prevent infection.
I'd keep an eye on it, if it doesn't seem to be bothering the dog, and make sure it isn't getting worse or infected. If it does, then it's time to see a vet. It will probably be okay. If you can, cut the nail a bit shorter so there's less stress on it from walking.
See a vet or vet tech BEFORE using something like super glue. Super glue is poisonous and should never be used anywhere near any sort of open wound. If the nail is cracked down near the vein the vet will have a safe compound that can be used.
